Hot rolled ordinary I-steel also called the steel dyes, is sliver of steel products with I-shaped section. Its section size expressed by waist high (h) (mm)× waist thick (d)(mm), e.g. the waist high is 160mm, the leg width is 88mm, the waist thick is 6mm ,this I-steel can be marked "I 160×88×6", another mark for I-steel is indicated with the model, the waist high(cm), like I16#. If they have same Waist high, but different waist thick and leg width, then must add a, b, c right side the model distinguishes, like 32a#, 32b#, 32c# and so on.
(1) Ordinary I-steel (GB706-88, GB1591-79)
A. main use: widely used in each kind of building structure, bridge, vehicles, support, the machinery and so on.
(2) Light I -steel (YB163-63.
Hot rolled light I-steel, compared with the ordinary I-steel, when they have the same waist high, the leg is wide, the waist and the leg are thin, namely wide leg thin wall. In the condition of guaranteeing bearing power, the light I-steel has better stability, also can save metal, and has the good economic effect.
Main use: same with the ordinary I-steel, mainly used in the workshop, bridge, other large-scale structural element, the vehicle ship manufacture and so on.
(1) Hot rolled H steel (GB1263-89)
Hot rolling H steel (GB1263-89) also called the wide leg I-steel, rolled by H section mill with the belt side. The characteristic is two legs parallel, and the leg inside do not have the ascent.
The H steel section shape is economical and reasonable, with good mechanics performance, when rolling; each spot on the section extends evenly, small internal stress. Compared with the ordinary I-steel, it has the merits of big section modulus; light weight, saves metals and so on. Used in construction, can cause the structure to reduce 30%-40%. Furthermore, because of the leg flank parallel and the leg end is the right angle, when assembling combines to the component, may save the welding, the riveted joint work load reaches 25%. commonly used big bearing capacity, large-scale construction with stability section (e.g. high-rise construction, workshop and so on), the bridge, the ships, lift ,transport machinery, the mechanical foundation, the support , the foundation pile and so on.
Types: A. wide flange H Steel (HK); B. Narrow flange H steel (HZ).
C. H steel peg (HU)
Expression: expressed by the weight, label a, b, c...... (For example: HK200C#). Also may use height (H) × width (B) ×ventral plate thickness (t1) × lifting surface thickness (t2), like HK200×206×15.0×25.0.

(2)H steel for welding (YB3302-81)
Light H steel for welding is welded by high frequency electric welding technics, or carbon dioxide shielded welding, manual welding and so on.
